Essa durerà circa 2.100 anni, il tempo necessario affinché il Sole, retrocedendo, passi attraverso tutti i 30 gradi di questa costellazione.
Va comunque sottolineato che non vi è una netta demarcazione tra le varie Ere. E' un modo costituito di stabilire le cose, così come quando diciamo che entriamo nel 1999 alla mezzanotte del 31 dicembre 1998 e che esso continuerà fino alla mezzanotte del 31 dicembre 1999. E' solo una divisione matematica del tempo.
Le grandi Ere o Epoche dell'esistenza umana, comunque, dipendono dalle influenze vitali e sono condizioni della mente piuttosto che della divisione del tempo, benché le due siano collegate. Perciò gli astrologi affermano l'esistenza di quella che è chiamata una "sfera d'influenza".
